New poll question

So tj_han actually brought up a good point, and it has been something that I've thought about as well. So I've posted a new poll, and I'd like to hear from you. Would you like to see me do critique and analysis on other anime blogs? Please vote because I'd like to hear from you.

I voted yes, out of interest, but I would like to point out that you had better have a thick skin if you embark on such a project.

Unless what you're planning is a kind of consensual assessment - i.e. you agree with the author of whichever blog you're assessing that you won't pull your punches. So both of you know where you stand, and hopefully the critique is constructive.

I agree with iknight about the "thick skin." I've come across several comments to post about "community" the last couple of days. I’m very much surprised to see anime bloggers make mention of other blogs not being worth linking or be so free about their views towards types of Blogger/bloggers they don’t appreciate.

Needless to say it could get messy if people were honest. There is a great deal of elitism and cockiness that has reared it’s head recently. Of course, this is only my opinion.

I'd suggest asking the blogger first, just so you don't blindside them. I find people are more receptive to criticism if they know they're going to get it, as opposed to it coming out of the blue. Of course, if you don't mind the heat, then you could skip that part, though you might miss out on some information if you don't converse with the blog/blogger you are writing about.

Regardless, it would be interesting to read constructive criticism that one could possibly take away and use on their own blog.

I don't think it's a bad idea really, it's not something that I've seen done before so for that reason I'm intrigued.

You might risk sounding arrogant, but I think as long as it's all constructive criticism and not "here's why this blog is inferior" it would turn out pretty well. I think you'd go about it the right way so I'm not too concerned.

As long as you can critique fairly and are prepared for the possible backlash I say give it a shot.
